Mexican Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

250ml/8fl oz/1 cup water or milk or a mixture
40g/1 oz Mexican chocolate or any unsweetened (bitter) chocolate

Method

Put the water or milk in a saucepan together with the chocolate and slowly bring to a simmer over a low heat. Simmer, stirring continuously, until the chocolate has melted. Continue to heat gently for 4-5 minutes to blend the flavours.


Pour the chocolate into a jug and whisk until frothy. Pour the chocolate into a mug and serve at once.
